SPARE – Eco Camp was organized in Kechkhobi (Thagveri) on 1-7 June, 2012. Most active SPARE students from 30 Tbilisi schools participated in the Eco-camp. Trainings on how to work and manage eco-clubs at schools were provided by ECOVISION trainers. The main topics of the trainigs were: energy, water, waste and biodiversity.
Eco-camp participants visited Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, where the lecture on Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park was given by the Park ranger. Clean up action was also organized in Tsagveri during the Eco-camp. Local government representatives, local population and tourists participated in the action together with the Eco-camp students. The event was covered by Borjomi TV. The Eco-camp participants were awarded the certificates and gifts. SPARE – Eco Camp was organized by ECOVISION under the SPARE (School Project for Application of Resources and Energy). SPARE is implemented in more than 20 countries by Norges Naturvernforbund/ Friends of the Earth Norway, with financial support of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
