Teachers training for celebrating International Days of Forest and Water

On March 22, 2016, for celebrating International Days of Forest and Water (21 March - International Day of Forests, 22 March – World Water Day), was held training "Environmental Education for Sustainable Development" for teachers of up to 20 schools of Tbilisi. The meeting was organized by NGO “EcoVision”, under project “SPARE” (School Project for Application of Resources and Energy). Teachers were provided with comprehensive information about the project and the opportunities of creating eco-clubs.

The teachers were trained about different environmental topics, among them energy efficiency, climate change, biodiversity and waste management. For celebrating International Days of Forest and Water, meeting participants got information about the importance of forest and water, as well as the related global and local problems and challenges.

 

During the meetings, environmental verses, stories, handbooks and comics for kids were distributed among the participants. The mentioned editions were developed and published by ECOVISION – The Union for Sustainable Development. 

 

At the end of the training teachers were awarded with certificates. The meeting caused a big interest among the participants. They got the comprehensive answers to their questions. The future activities of the ‘SPARE’ project have been planned. The project “SPARE” is financed by Norges Naturvernforbund/Friends of the Earth Norway.
