Eco-tour for celebrating Biodiversity Day

On May 21-22, 2016, for celebrating Biodiversity Day (May 22 is the International Day of Biodiversity!), in Lagodekhi Protected Areas was arranged an eco-tour for school children. It was organized by KfW, the German Development Bank, NGO “EcoVision,” Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF), The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and supported by the Agency of Protected Areas, within the framework of the campaign “Clean Up Day is Every Day.”

In eco-tour participated 2nd and 3rd place winner children (students of Kaspi and Mtskheta schools) of eco-quizzes, which was held at clean up actions and Europe Day event.

During the eco-tour the students participated in trainings about biodiversity, protected areas, eco-tourism, waste and energy efficiency. There was also held master classes during which students learned how to create new things from plastic waste. Within the framework of eco-tour was  also arranged eco-songs karaoke.

Students with rangers of protected areas participated in hiking tour of Ninoskhevi Waterfall.

During eco-tour was arranged the presentation of Eco Film Festival and Competition, which is being implemented by NGO “EcoVision” and financed by the U.S. Embassy in Georgia. Within the framework of this project was held an eco-quiz for school children and the winner was rewarded with Invitation at Summer Eco-camp.
