The project "Save Water" – trainings for school students

On April 5-12, 2017, trainings and eco-quizzes were held for more than 500 students of the 16 schools from Varketili district that are involved in the project “Save Water.” The meeting participants got information about the importance of water resources and its sustainable using. For assessing the knowledge of the children which they received during the trainings, there were held the eco-quizzes. During the eco-quizzes the winning teams were revealed.

These trainings and eco-quizzes is the first stage of the gwp-Olympiad. At the next stage, the winner teams of eco-quizzes will compete in different activities on water saving topic. The students will also conduct an information campaign on sustainable use of water. The winner team of the Olympiad will be rewarded with an invitation at Eco-Camp “Ecovision 2017.”

The project “Save Water” is organized by the company “Georgian Water and Power” (gwp) and NGO “EcoVision.” The aim of the project is sustainable usage and saving of water resources, as well as raising the civic activism with the help of youth. The project is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection and the Ministry of Education and Science.

The mentioned pilot project is the basis of a national campaign of sustainable use of water resources. “gwp” will organize water saving campaigns in other districts of Tbilisi as well.
