“EcoVision” at Iliauni sixth Science Picnic

On September 30, 2017, NGO “Ecovision,” under the project “SPARE” took part in Iliauni Tbilisi Science Picnic, which was held at Vake Park. A lot of people visited “EcoVision” tent and viewed energy efficient appliances, books, booklets, and games about the environment protection.

There was also held an eco-quiz and its’ winners were awarded with prizes. Hundreds of children participated in the quiz, which included questions from the following main environmental topics: biodiversity, climate change, waste, energy efficiency and energy saving, protected areas of the world and of Georgia, natural resources, etc. There was a big number of questions from the natural sciences.

In “EcoVision” tent, master classes on making of a secondary paper were arranged. Young people were actively involved in the process of making a secondary paper.

NGO “EcoVision” also arranged fun quizzes on biodiversity.  A lot of children have listened to the voice of various animals and birds, to guess which voice belonged to which species. The winners of this quiz also were awarded with memorable gifts.

For the guests of Science Picnic, master classes on creating new items from waste were arranged. The visitor children of “EcoVision” tent made beautiful accessories with environmental tips from different waste by themselves.

The visitors of “EcoVision” tent especially liked children’s eco songs, made by NGO “EcoVision.”

Iliauni Science Picnic is a one-day open air annual event organized by Ilia State University. The event aims to present science to people in an amusing way, and by doing so, make it attractive for the representatives of different professional fields and age groups. The Fifth Science Picnic was held within the framework of Science and Innovations Festival, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

 

The project “SPARE” (School Project for Application of Resources and Energy) is financed by Norges Naturvernforbund/Friends of the Earth Norway.
