On November 3, 2016, under the “SPARE” project, NGO “EcoVision” organized the training for Tbilisi #45 public school students. Up to 35 children participated in it.


On November 3, 2016, the representatives of NGO “EcoVision,” “Austrian Red Cross” and “Georgian Red Cross” visited Ambrolauri municipality. They brought energy-efficient wood stoves to 3 kindergartens in the municipality. 


On October 17 and 31, 2016, NGO “EcoVision” conducted trainings for teachers of up to 25 schools of Tbilisi on the topic of Energy Efficiency. The meetings were organized by NGO “EcoVision”, under the project “SPARE” (School Project for Application of Resources and Energy). Teachers were provided with comprehensive information about the project and the opportunities of creating eco-clubs.


On October 27-29, 2016, NGO “EcoVision” representatives took part in a regional meeting of Climate Action Network Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (CAN-EECCA). The name of the meeting was “100% Renewable Energy” and it was held in Kiev (Ukraine).


NGO “EcoVision,” under the project “SPARE,” School Project for Application of Resources and Energy) has developed the new version of “EcoVision” TV Show. The trial version of the program was recorded at the Tbilisi Botanical Garden.


On October 19, 20 and 21, 2016, the trainings were held at NGO “EcoVision” office, about Place-Based Service Learning Projects. The trainings were organized by US Forest Service, USAID and supported by the Tbilisi Municipal Department of Environment and Landscaping. The representatives of those organizations and educational structures, who work with youth from 7-22 years of age on environment and sustainability issues, participated in the trainings.


The US Forest Service, USAID, and the Ecology Department of Tbilisi City are happy to announce a new program for organizations and educators working with youth from 7-22 years of age on environment and sustainability issues. The Learn-Share-Do for a Greener Tbilisi Program will provide financial support to projects that engage youth in improving the environment of their school, community, or the city, while actively learning. 


On October 5, 2016, the representatives of NGO “EcoVision,” “Austrian Red Cross” and “Georgian Red Cross” visited Dedoplistskaro municipality village Samtatskaro. They brought 6 energy-efficient wood stoves to the kindergarten of the village. This kindergarten has 70 children. 


On October 4, 2016, at “EcoVision” office, within the framework of the project “SPARE,” was arranged the meeting with EU program “Inogate” sustainable energy expert Mr. Aleksander Antonenko. “Inogate” is a regional energy cooperation programme between the European Union and 11 Partner Countries in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia. 


On September 24, 2016, NGO “Ecovision,” under the project “SPARE” took part in Iliauni Tbilisi Science Picnic, which was held at Vake Park. A lot of people visited “EcoVision” tent and viewed energy efficient appliances, books, booklets, posters and games about the environment protection.


On September 15 and 22, 2016, the representatives of NGO “EcoVision” visited Zugdidi and Gori. Within the framework of the “SPARE” project, they brought energy efficient wood stoves to 2 schools of Zugdidi and to 3 schools of Gori.


NGO "EcoVision” and KfW, the German Development Bank made information banners “Thank you, that you don’t throw the waste away!”. The banners were installed in 8 different locations in Tbilisi and surrounding region. At these places, on May 2016, were arranged the large-scale clean up actions, within the framework of the campaign “Clean Up Day is Every Day.”


From June to September 2016, in Kolkheti, Borjomi-Kharagauli and Tusheti Protected Areas were arranged summer eco-camps “EcoVision,” organized by NGO “EcoVision” and supported by NGO “Citizen.” Up to 400 school students took part in camps – the winners of: EcoVision TV Show quiz, “SPARE” project competition, NGO “Citizen” Civil Olympics and NGO “EcoVision” different contests and eco-quizzes.


In Summer Eco-camps “EcoVision 2016” along with various educational and entertainment activities, the trainings about Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving were held. The meetings were organized within the framework of the project “SPARE” (School Project for Application of Resources and Energy). The lectures were held by professors and experts of this field. Eco-camp participants were also informed about the “SPARE” project and about the opportunities to create eco-clubs at schools. The trainings caused a big interest among the participants. They got the comprehensive answers to their questions. Within the framework of the trainings the children prepared presentations about energy efficiency, energy saving and climate change.


On August 6, 2016, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia, Gigla Agulashvili, visited summer eco-camp “EcoVision 2016” in Tsemi. He received information about eco-camp program and spoke with camp leaders and participants.


On July 3-7, 2016, NGO “EcoVision” with its’ partner organization „Світ освіт,“ arranged study tour in Georgia of Ukrainian colleagues. The event was held within the framework of the “SPARE” project and the representatives of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and environmental NGO „Світ освіт“ visited Georgia.
